The Pregnancy - Week 26

Written by

This is Your 26th week. Your uterus is almost above your umbilicus. You may be feeling tired this week. This could be due to your increasing weight. You may also be having muscular pain. This is also normal during pregnancy. If the pain increases and persists for a long time without relief, inform your doctor and seek her advice.

The baby would be growing, its eyes which were closed until now may be slowly opening and may also be able to appreciate the light. The nerves connecting the ear to the brain may also have developed by now and the baby may well be able to hear and recognize your voice. You should start singing lullabies for your little one.

You may also be able to feel Braxton Hicks contractions. Some women get scared that these contractions may be causing some harm to the baby. Don’t worry! These contractions are normal and are part of the pregnancy process. This will not cause any harm to you or the baby.  Try to take rest in between activity.
