Beans - an excellent source of fiber and protein during pregnancy

We have already talked about the importance of proteins in our earlier newsletters. Today we are going to be talking about beans.

Many pregnant women complain of Constipation during pregnancy. Constipation could be due to the pressure on the growing uterus, and also due to the pregnancy hormone progesterone that slows the digestive tract. Iron supplements are another reason for constipation.

Most of us know that beans are an excellent source of protein and fibre. Fiber as it absorbs water helps with regular bowel movements.Taking beans during pregnancy as it contains enormous amount of fiber can help with regular bowels. Beans are also an excellent  source of folate and iron. So don't hesitate to reach out for those beans.
