Women with PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) may have problems getting pregnant. Pregnancy happens when the sperm fertilizes the egg released by the ovary during ovulation, i.e during the 12 to 16 day of the menstrual cycle. But in Women who are suffering from PCOD, Ovulation does not happen or happens rarely. So, no egg is released and thus no fertilization.
Polycystic ovarian disease ( PCOD) is a common cause of infertility. Women with PCOS may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods or excess male hormone (androgen) levels. Because, they have irregular cycles, usually they don't ovulate regularly. As the egg is not released every month, the chances of pregnancy decreases.
